Set in Georgia during the American Civil War, it is the story of strong willed Scarlet O'Hara, her life and three marriages and her determination to keep her family's property of 'Tara' despite the savage consequences of the war. Book deals with many issues but what moved me is the clarity and the depth with which the emotions are portrayed.. I couldn't relate to the period or the political frame at which the story is set, still I could connect with Scarlet O'Hara and her materialistic mentality and the situations which lead such personality. A truly magnificent novel which proves that emotions are universal!
